The D'Doom is built around a solid oak body with a soda-blasted finish, giving it a distinctive textured surface and a bright, resonant tone character.

Neck & Fingerboard
The neck is maple, reinforced with carbon rods for long-term stability and resistance to warping. It's paired with a textolite fingerboard — a durable, low-maintenance alternative to traditional tonewoods, offering a bright, articulate response. Scale length is 25.5", with a 12" fingerboard radius, suited to both rhythm and lead playing.

Frets & Hardware
Fretted with Gold EVO fretwire for smooth playability and extended durability. Tuning stability is handled by Golden Age tuners.

Electronics
The guitar is fitted with the luthiers own designed "Biggus Pickuppus" pickup, wired with 1M potentiometers and a 0.033µF tone capacitor — a configuration that preserves clarity and top-end detail while allowing the pickup's output to come through with weight and definition.

Comments from the luthier:

The main artistic challenge for this guitar was to make it fit for heavy music styles without leaning to the colour black or pointy ends. Just as well, I did not want to relic the instrument in the common way, because relic should be authentic (personal opinion, not a fact). To this end, I chose soda blasting, which gives a distinctive weathered look and embelishes with time and use. With the same goal I chose brass for the hardware- the oxide changes with use and environment. The most important part of this guitar is the pickup. Ceramic magnets, steel core and 38AWG wire- started as an experiment and ended up making brilliant sound. This pickup shines the best with Fender Bassman and analog amps.

About the Builder:
