Different By Design
The first oil can echoes were made by Tel-Rey in 1959, achieving repeats using a small rotating can filled with conductive oil as the dielectric material instead of tape. This novel approach produces sounds that differ greatly from tape machines, transporting listeners to a darker, murkier space full of vibe. Authentic emulation required extensive research and a new algorithm to achieve realism. Olivera faithfully captures the true soul of the original units, from dark repeats with unique rhythmic and decay characteristics to thick modulation that morphs with the audio.

Vintage Stereo Echo Enhanced With Modern Features
Olivera integrates powerful features for modern rigs: discrete stereo operation for independent L/R processing, simplified controls with expression pedal & Multiswitch support, delay spillover to preserve repeats when bypassed, Class A JFET stereo input preamp for touch sensitivity and frequency response, MIDI patch recall and controller data, premium components, rugged construction, and USB for firmware updates and pedal control via computer.

MIDI
Full MIDI implementation with 300 presets, controllable via MIDI or DAW through EXP/MIDI jack or USB.

True Buffered Bypass
Choose between electromechanical relay-switched true bypass (default) for fully untouched signal or premium buffered bypass that preserves high frequencies.

JFET Input
Discrete Class A JFET preamp optimizes incoming audio for ultra-low noise operation and flat frequency response.

Stereo
Full stereo I/O capabilities, processing signals independently with three routing options: Mono In/Mono Out, Mono In/Stereo Out, Stereo In/Stereo Out. TRS stereo jacks simplify patching.

ARM Processor
Advanced ARM processors provide more simultaneous processing with lower current draw, enabling emulation of every sonic nuance efficiently.

Controls
Time: Adjusts delay time (200–800ms) by controlling the oil can rotation speed, modifiable via Head selection.
Heads: Choose ‘Short’, ‘Long’, or ‘Both’ to select playback head distance for decay time. ‘Short’ for closest head, ‘Long’ for furthest head, ‘Both’ for combined echo.
