To ensure you get the absolute best out of your new KALI pedal, we strongly recommend you take some time just playing with it to get to know the controls and how they react. Yes, that is right, we want you to play with it as much as possible! This pedal has a lot of features that all work together to forge the tone. They all react with each other so remember to keep tweaking until you find YOUR tone. Please note, GAIN 1 is only active on CH2 (Red channel). BASS - An ative Bass control that can add as well as cut bass frequencies. MID - An active Mid range control that can add as well as cut mid-range frequencies. TREBLE - An active Treble control that can add as well as cut treble frequencies. MASTER - Output level of the pedal. GAIN 2 - The main gain stage. Works on both RED and GREEN channels. GAIN 1 - Second gain (cascaded before GAIN 2) stage that only works on RED (CH 2) channel. STOMPS CH 1/2 - Changes between channel 1 and 2. Channel 2 (RED), has considerably more gain due to the added gain stage (GAIN 1) being active. ON - Turns the pedal on/off. MASTER SWITCH VINT - This is where you will find the most “vintage sound and feel” of the pedal, some bounce is added and a slight level of compression that makes the pedal feel like a Plexi - think chimey Hendrix all the way to live Kossof (and beyond) - when CH 2 is selected, a modern sounding “mod” response/tone is added to the circuit that takes you straight to the birth of modern, modded, high gain. RAW - This is the “loudest” of the three settings. There are no additional gain/brightness/compression stages added, this is the pedal in its most natural state. SAT - The classic Fortin saturation, at lower levels the volume will drop and the saturation is obvious. As you turn the LEVEL knob clockwise, the volume drop is less noticeable, but the level of compression will increase, giving you that HUGE ‘tube-amp-being-pushed-to-its-limits’ feel. BRIGHT SWITCHES (one for each gain control) 1 (Left) - Adds a level of brightness to the gain control, giving a similar tone and response of a vintage Plexi amp. 0 (Middle) - No additional brightness, this is the pedal in its most natural state. 2 (Right) - Adds a level of brightness to the gain control, giving a similar tone and response of a 2203 (800) amp. KALI in - Signal enters the pedal here... KALI out - ... and exits here (for best results, plug into the “FX Return” / “Power Amp In” of your amp). POWER - 9vDC center pin negative (fully regulated) external adaptor/power supply ONLY. Power draw - 115mA. MOSFET input protection in the event of wrong adaptor is connected, this prevents internal circuit damage (the pedal will not power up).
